Around Juneau -

Whether you are an avid outdoor person, an arts enthusiast or a restaurant hound, downtown Juneau has a lot to offer. The Rainforest Cottage is conveniently located within walking distance of downtown attractions AND backcountry trails.

Just around the corner from the Rainforest Cottage, Basin Road leads the hiker or bicyclist to the popular Perseverance Trail. Originally built as an access road to the Perseverance Mine in 1885, the trail now displays evidence of past mining operations and offers an unforgettable wilderness experience with spectacular views and wildlife viewing opportunities. The Last Chance Mining Museum is not far from the Rainforest Cottage along this trail. Adventurous hikers can also hike to the top of Mount Juneau and into the Granite Creek and Silverbow Basins from Perseverance Trail. Rainforest Cottage dwellers also have easy access to the trailhead for Mount Roberts.

Downtown Juneau hosts an exciting array of arts and entertainment venues, and the Rainforest Cottage is convenient for all your work and fun. Restaurants, theaters, a small grocery store, meeting centers and the public library are all within a mile of the Cottage. A full grocery store is located just over a mile away. A complete guide to finding downtown attractions and amenities will be available to you at the Cottage.
